How to receive gifts from brands
...even if you don't have followers on social media
Ever wondered how creators get their porches filled with amazing gifts from brands, even with fewer followers than you? I did too!
A while back, I decided to dive deep into the world of brand gifts. I really wanted to come back home from my trips to my house filled with make-up and fashion gifts!
Here’s what I discovered: you don't need millions of followers - sometimes, you don't need any at all. The magic lies in your skills and approach.
1. Get on the brands' PR Lists
The first way to start receiving gifts is by getting on a brand's PR list. Here's how you do it: create organic content for brands and DM them.
Ask if they're running any collaborations with creators. In my experience, social media teams are often responsible for adding creators to their PR lists. If they like your content, they might say, "We can't offer paid promotions, but we can gift you some products." Just like that, you're in! But remember, only accept gifts from brands you genuinely support to build positive relationships.
2. Create UGC Content
The second method is UGC (User-Generated Content) collaboration. Brands send you products to review, and you create videos that they use on their social channels.
You don't need loads of followers for this - all you need is a compelling profile that showcases your content style. Start by filming videos with products you already own, then apply as a UGC creator through various platforms to connect with brands. Although you'll face hurdles initially, persistence pays off. Once you're accepted, you'll become more visible to other brands.
Here is a list of my favorite UGC platforms:
Brand Meet Creators, JoinBrands, Izea, Skeepers, Collabstr, Creator.co, NewsFlare, Showcase, Billo, Tribe, Insense, BeeRoll, On The House (OTH), Aspire.IO, TheSecretSociety, Cohley, Curacity.
If you live in Europe, I recommend checking out these platforms:
Upfluence, BrandCollab, Influencity, Heepsy, Influencer.co, Shoutcart, Buzzoole, CitrusAd, Takumi, Grapevine, Klear, Mediakix, WeSocial, The Amplify, Tribe, Find Your Influence (FYI).

The course is in Russian! For now :)
